wedding cake topper

custom ceramic cake topper

I’m getting married next year and I have many exciting creative projects that I am working on leading up to the wedding. The first one I am going to share with you is our wedding cake topper. These were not easy at all to make, but so rewarding!

If you are familiar with my clay zodiac set, you would know that I typically mold a simple silhouette. Our wedding cake toppers were not an easy shape for me and the bride pictured is actually my second attempt. I did my best to shape and paint them off mine and my fiancé’s appearances, although I used a general wedding outfit for us both.

how it’s made:

  • Sculpey polymer clay
  • acrylic paint
  • Sculpey gloss glaze
  • acrylic stand I stole from other figures I own
  • tulle from curtain liner
  • Command Hook tape
  • Gorilla glue

This project took me a majority of the day, and I was able to recycle the stands they were glued to from other anime figures I was no longer displaying. After molding and painting the figures, I knew I wanted to add a veil to my figure. I cut a small piece of tulle from the lining of a curtain and cut a corner of a Command hook tape to attach it to the back of her head.

As always, thanks for being here! Let me know what you think and subscribe to see what comes next. I’m not done creating!
